Hi, I’m Ellie Macias
“I don’t think people have to put in cafe hours to learn how to make good espresso”
Daily, I meet people who have recently purchased espresso setups who ask for a range of espresso-related tips like on getting started, office employees who want to try to pour their own latte art, explaining tamping, the list goes on. I try my best to serve up espresso shot dialing troubleshooting on the fly, but there’s so much more we could get into.
I discovered coffee after spending a year abroad in Australia and working at a couple of local cafes in Melbourne.
Even 10 years ago it felt like everyone was so much better than me so I compensated by doing the most. I took classes, bought an espresso machine, joined latte art throwdowns, attended and volunteered at coffee expos, and visited every coffee shop I could. However, the turning point happened when I had dedicated mentors who got to know me and coached me through my shortcomings.
I’m here to help you in the comfort of your own space, with your own things so you know that you will be able to reproduce the results.
Teaching others how to make espresso and pour their own latte art has been what I have the most fun doing. Generally, I’m confident in the skills others have to make delicious coffee on their own and with a few tips, tweaks, and/or equipment upgrades is all it takes to make it, daily.
